White as Snow

This is our first winter in Tennessee and of course the state welcomed us with our love of winter. Slight sarcasm since I'm from Texas and only saw snow in the state twice growing up if you count ice flakes as snow. I'm sure that makes Northerners laugh so hard it hurts.
Our son on the other hand has never seen snow not just because this is his first winter but we've been in Texas over the holidays were it was cold elsewhere. He didn't quite know what to think of it but his Rudolph nose preferred the fireplace inside. Here are a few pictures of the winter wonderland of Tennessee which they said they haven't seen in over a decade! And here's to hoping spring is on the horizon!

Oh BOY!

A couple of months ago I headed back to Texas for my best friends wedding and a couple of days later also had a day of celebrating this little man that's about to make us parents...oh boy! Here are a few pictures of the day that I'll never forget feeling so much love from so many people I love. I can't wait for him to meet these women that surround my life and give me the gift of friendship. I'm beyond thankful for everyone that came and living on the east coast now it means even more that this was planned for us and a day dedicated to little man.
Side note: I do have some of the craftiest, most creative friends so some of these decorations are actually hanging in his room awaiting his arrival which makes it even more special.

Lake House

Since moving from Texas to the east coast I've come to find life a lot different and not only that but the natural environment. I've traveled near and far in my twenty six years but to pick up and move and see life differently for more than a weekend or a couple of months has opened my eyes to the beauty of it all.
Growing up my mom always said she wanted to retire with a lake house and here I am living in one at half her age, only a couple of feet off our deck we have the most calming lake (at times) that can bring a smile to anyone's face that marvels at it long enough and contentment to ones heart. Here's a little peak into our backyard and the lush east coast...can't wait for you to visit momma B!

Holiday Beaching

Every year on July 4th my husband and I seem to find our way to a body of water, an ocean, lake or pool to enjoy the weekend of celebrating America's birthday. This year was no different as we went to Wilmington, NC. Here are a few shots that caught my eye and one at the very bottom we plan on framing. Happiest of Birthdays, America, you truly are beautiful!
